INTERIOR FLOORING FAQ'S

Q. My floor is not 6’ wide. Do you sell narrower pieces of PlasTEAK and Holly?
A. Not at this time. Many customers have found that once they get the material they find several more uses for any leftovers. Usually once your dock mates see the finished product they will want some as well.

Q. How do I cut PlasTEAK and Holly?
A. The material is easily cut with a utility knife or heavy scissors/shears.

Q. Is PlasTEAK and Holly hard to install?
A. The material is installed just like laying linoleum. The adhesive is spread using a notched trowel and the material set in place. Air bubbles are then rolled out using a flooring roller.

Q.  How flexible is PlasTEAK and Holly?
A. The material is quite flexible and can easily follow the upward curve where some floors flow up the side of the hull.

Q. What do I do on the edges of steps or hatches?
A. Matching plastic trim is available through our online store. We have also used aluminum trim and it looks great.

Q. Can I use PlasTEAK and Holly outside?
A. Yes, the material carries a 3 year warranty in exterior applications.

Q. How do I join the material to cover areas more than six feet wide?
A. There is a special seaming tape and adhesive. We recommend that you buy the seaming kit that comes with an instructional video. It is easier than it may sound. The nice thing is that the material has a “visual seam” along each white “holly” stripe which really hides seams in the material well.

Q. How does PlasTEAK and Holly do with dog claws?
A. The material is very rugged. dog claws and fingernails leave no effect.

Q. How do I clean your interior flooring products?
A. Warm soap and water seem to handle most tasks. We like to use a wet Swiffer to keep a nice sheen on it.

Q. My floor panels are tattered and broken. Can you replicate them?
A. As long as we can re-assemble them to match the original shape it should be no problem. Broken panels may need to be labeled so that we can match them back together. Pictures of the panels in place go long way in letting us see how everything lined up originally. Dented, dinged and chipped edges are no problem. The most critical areas to have intact are the corners.

Q. How do I get my old flooring panels to you?
A. Please contact us to discuss the condition of your panels and the best packaging and shipping options.
