PlasDECK - Why PlasDECK?

PlasDECK is the next generation of flexible synthetic teak boat decking and is made right here in the USA in the “Polymer Capital of the World” Akron, Ohio. A lot was learned over the years while working with first generation materials and PlasDECK has virtually eliminated all of the previous problems. Scientists went all the way down to the molecular level in order to engineer a patented product that is superior to anything else available. You’ll find PlasDECK as factory options on premier brands like Sea Ray®, Cruisers Yachts® and Formula® all of who did their own independent testing and evaluation.

Durability -
Using a proprietary process PlasDECK incorporates “Automotive Grade” UV inhibitors, the best money can buy. Expensive “non-migrating” plasticizers ensure that the material won’t crack, crumble or dry out over time. Longevity is the number one concern for exterior decking and because we use the best ingredients, you can rest assured that your PlasDECK will look beautiful for a long, long time without changing color. To prove it, our five year warranty is nearly twice as long as our competition.

Stain Resistant-
Because PlasDECK is not a porous material it resists staining better than natural wood or cork decking. The new proprietary formula is also easier to clean than other synthetic teak products. Petroleum products, red wine and fish blood simply was off with common detergents. Unlike natural wood decking the material can even be pressure washed without damage.

Aesthetics-
PlasDECK simply looks more like real teak decking than any other product on the market. The color is closer and the graining is more accurate. Using subtle streaking agents during production makes a material that looks more like real wood. Other synthetic decking can look too uniform making it less like natural wood.

Better Adhesion-

Testing proved that having a flat surface on the underside of PlasDECK offers better adhesion while using less adhesive than grooved designs. Earlier products are more prone to premature release as it is difficult to ensure all the areas of a grooved design are filled evenly with glue. This can create voids that trap air and moisture under the material and cause problems during expansion in warm weather. The flat backing surface also dramatically reduces the effects of compression from above which eliminates dimples in the final surface.

Non-Slip-
PlasDECK offers incredible traction, even when wet. The top side has a texture that mimics that of real teak. Small variances in the “grain” sipe water from underfoot providing stable footing in all conditions. Because the material is colorfast throughout, scuffs and scratches can be sanded without affecting the look and performance.
